The holidays are all about glitz and glam, and these beautiful metallic foil papers and embellishments from our product partners, MeandMyBigIdeas, are perfect for creating that elegant holiday feel. Today I’ve made some quick and easy treat bags to share using lots of MAMBI goodies and Therm O Web adhesives, along with a fun die from Sizzix. These little cuties would add a festive touch to any holiday table setting or party favor, and even make a wonderful gift bag, too. Let’s take a look.
Begin by die cutting several treat bags from a variety of metallic foil papers. Any small bag or box template would work beautifully for this project, or there are also lots of free templates available for free download on the internet. For my project, I used the Sizzix Alterations In the Bag Die by Tim Holtz. Fold along all the score lines.
Trim down a few of the 3×4 journaling cards to fit the front of the bag. Then adhere the cards to the flat bag fronts using Therm O Web 1/4″ SuperTape™. For 3D projects like this that will get handled quite a bit, I recommend using the SuperTape for a super strong and durable hold.
Then apply the SuperTape™ along the side flap of the bag, and assemble the bag. Again, I recommend SuperTape™ for a lasting hold.
Cut 1/2 x 6 strips of white cardstock for bag handles. Place medium Zots™ Clear Adhesive Dots on both ends of the paper strip, then adhere the handle ends to the inside of the assembled bags.
Cut out a few glitter shapes from the 3×4 journaling cards to embellish the front of the bags. Adhere the cuts with 3D Adhesive Squares for a bit of extra depth and dimension.
Our new Fabric Fuse Glue works perfectly for adhering small embellishments, like these sequins.
Trim down the clear transparency journaling cards to create hang tags. Punch a hole in the top of the tags, thread with ribbon and string, and tie onto the package handles.
Fill with small gifts and treats, and enjoy!
All this glitter and shine is perfect for the December holidays, but also works beautifully for Thanksgiving, too. Here is a sweet card I made from the same collection showcasing some of the beautiful pink tones of the line.
A simple pieced paper background. A glitter journaling card die cut to create a central frame. Heart and arrow fussy cut from an additional journaling card. A layered transparency sentiment. Therm O Web XL Tape Runner, Zots™ medium Adhesive Dots, and 3D Adhesive Squares.
Pink and Gold for Thanksgiving? Yes, please!Paper, Scissors and Glue
