Easy Fusible Fleece Knot Headband
Hi friends! Alicia here again from Sew What Alicia. I love to make Halloween costumes for the kids but I rarely take the time to do anything crazy for myself. This easy knot headband is my idea of dressing up. This headband is easy to make and you can use any fabrics for any holiday. Here is an easy fusible fleece knot headband to add some fun to your head this holiday season!
Easy Fusible Fleece Knot Headband
Supplies:
Fabric
1/4″ elastic
Headband Instructions:
Cut your fabric into two strips. The first should measure 3″ x 23″. The second should measure 3″ x 19″. Cut one piece of elastic that measures 5″.
Press the strips under on each side. The ends should overlap by 1/8″.
Press the raw short end under 1/4″. Now cut a strip of fusible fleece to fit into the little pocket you have created. Place the adhesive part of the fleece right side up. Then press to close the fabric.
Use a zig zag stitch to cover the raw edges of the fabric, use a coordinating thread (the black thread was used to show well in photographs.) Fold one strip in half. Then feed the other strip through the loop and fold it in half as well. This will create the knot at the top of the headband. Clip one end of each strip 1/2″ from the other end. Fold the corners of the longer end of each strip into a point.
Attach the elastic to the pointed end of each strip. Tack the shorter end of the strip with a straight stitch.
You can shorten the strips or the elastic to ensure that you have the right size headband. This will give you a finished adult size headband.
Now you have a fun knot headband.
