Easter Bunny Cards
Hello! It’s Andrea with you sharing a pair of Easter cards featuring Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets. These sheets add such a fun element to paper projects. Who wouldn’t want to receive a card with a soft, fuzzy bunny on it?!
Adding Deco Foil Flock to Die Cuts
For both cards, I die-cut Deco Foil Foam Adhesive with C.C. Designs Bunny Accessories Dies. This adhesive gives the perfect amount of dimension and makes applying flock, foil, paper, or glitter super easy.
To add the flock to my die-cuts, I removed one side of the backing from the die-cuts and placed them face down onto the flock transfer sheets. I then ran the die-cuts through my die-cutting machine to transfer the flock to the adhesive. For the white bunny, I used White Latte, Black Velvet, and Pink Carnation Flock Transfer Sheets.
Using the same technique, I applied Tuscan Gold, Black Velvet, and Pink Carnation Flock Transfer Sheets to the die-cuts for the brown bunny. If you find the backing is difficult to remove from the tiny die-cuts, I recommend using the Tim Holtz Retractable Craft Pick or something similar (It’s also very helpful when placing the smaller pieces on your project). Alternatively, you may prefer to apply the foam adhesive sheet to the flock sheet before die-cutting the shapes.
Assembling the White Bunny Card
Before adhering the smaller die-cuts to the bunny, I added some shading with dye inks. Using a sponge dauber, I applied Antique Linen Distress Ink to the edges of the bunny and to the places where the eyes and nose would go. I used a Detail Blending Tool to add some pink where the whiskers would be attached.
I decided to create a colorful background to make that cute bunny really pop. I started by blending a panel of white cardstock with Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. By overlapping the colors, I was able to achieve additional colors. Next, I sprayed the back of Whimsy Stamps Sun Rays Stencil with Pixie Spray and placed the stencil over my panel. When a stencil has lots of details or thin areas of plastic, this spray is excellent for preventing the stencil from shifting while blending. With the stencil in place, I applied the same ink colors, again allowing them to overlap.
After trimming down my ink-blended panel, I framed it with a black rectangle die-cut with Whimsy Stamps Shaker Maker Rectangle Dies. I adhered the frame to my panel with strips of Gina K. Designs White Foam Tape and then attached the panel to my card with the Tape Runner XL. For my sentiment, I applied Deco Foil Foam Adhesive to pink cardstock and then die-cut it with Newton’s Nook Designs Spring Pile Up Dies. The only thing left to do was remove the backing from the bunny and sentiment and attach them to my card.
Assembling the Brown Bunny Card
To give some dimension to that adorable bunny, I again added shading with dye inks. For the brown bunny, I used a sponge dauber with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink on the edges. I applied pink where the whiskers attach and colored the whiskers with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Then I removed the backing from the smaller die-cuts and adhered them to the body.
For this background, I decided to go for a softer look. I first sprayed the back of Whimsy Stamps Sprinkles Stencil with Pixie Spray. After placing the stencil over a panel of white cardstock, I blended with the same distress inks as before, again allowing them to overlap and create new colors.
I die-cut a black frame with Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Scalloped Square Frames Dies. I die-cut my stenciled panel with the same die and adhered the frame and insert it together by placing strips of Gina K. Designs Foam Tape on the back. I attached the piece to a 5 1/2″ square card and stamped a sentiment from Newton’s Nook Designs Spring Pile Up stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope I’ve inspired you to create some fuzzy critters of your own!
