Hi all!! Becca here from Sunflower Seams!  I can’t believe it is already November, where has this year gone!?!  November is one of my favorite months; the weather is cooling down, fall is in full color and it’s pumpkin season!!

I purchased this adorable pumpkin fabric from Oh So Pretty Fabrics, one of my favorite custom knit shops, and knew right away I would be using it to make my daughter a dress.  I felt like the pumpkins would be a little too busy for the entire dress and instead decided to use a solid knit as the bodice but it still needed a little something.

That’s when I pulled out Silhouette Cameo and searched through my ever growing Deco Foil stash for this fun and easy Thankful & Blessed design.  You can find this design in the Silhouette America store for purchase. Or create your own with a favorite font!

Once you have chosen which design to cut, place the adhesive side (bumpy side) of your Hot Melt face up on the cutting mat. Carefully weed your design, making sure to get all of the small unneeded pieces.

Tip: Be sure you mirror your image so that when you iron it on to your garment the words are not backwards.  TooltipText

Place your design on your garment and lay a piece of parchment or pressing paper over the Hot Melt Adhesive.  Press firmly for 30 seconds. Move the iron around in a slow, firm motion over the area. I like to press from the back side for 15 seconds as well.

I like to add my hot melt adhesive before I sew the garment together, that way I have a nice flat surface, no seams in the way, but you can do it at the end if you want.

Once the adhesive is cool, peel off the liner. Cut a piece of Deco Foil just large enough to cover your entire design.  Place the foil with the color side up over the adhesive design you just ironed to your garment.

Lay a piece of parchment or pressing paper over the Deco Foil square and press firmly for 30 seconds.  Allow the foil to cool before removing the transfer sheet away.

Complete your garment per the pattern instructions. Now you can enjoy the beautiful and personalized garment you made. I hope you enjoyed this fun project.

Happy Sewing!
