It’s Celebrations Week and we’re celebrating a Guest Designer joining us for this week plus a few more coming up! Stephanie Benavides aka Stephaniebenadesigns on IG (you’ll want to follow her!) kindly accepted our invitation to join our team. And if you’re wondering how this all came about…it’s quite simple…she tagged us on social media in projects made using our products and the rest is history.

Deco Foil Rainbow Mermaid Birthday Card with Unity Adhesive Transfers

I started by heating my laminator so I could work on my sentiment. I carefully cut out “happy” and “birthday” from the adhesive transfer sheet. I firmly applied them to white cardstock and ran it through the heated laminator in a carrier sheet. When it came out, I applied a piece of Mystic Rainbow Deco Foil, color side up and ran it through the laminator in a carrier sheet again. I peeled back the foil to reveal the colorfully foiled happy sentiment! I proceeded to fussy cut the sentiments.

I set aside the sentiment and started on my mermaid. I die-cut the mermaid out of a Deco Foil Toner Sheet, along with her pearl crown and shell. I separated all the pieces and set them on a carrier sheet. I put different color foils over the different pieces and ran them through the laminator. I love the rose gold outline!

To finish up the mermaid, I added a little sparkle to her pearl crown. With the mermaid finished, I moved on to the background. I die-cut a wave background and ink blended with 3 different color distress oxides.

I decided to add some light rays to the background. I used Pixie Spray to the stencil to keep it in place while I blended in some white ink.
