Hey, everyone! Welcome to a week full of fabulous inspiration using products from ThermOWeb, Picket Fence Studios, and My Sweet Petunia! Today I used the That’s Flocking Great stamp set along with … what else … Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets!
Flock Great Flamingo Card
Background
I wanted to have a double textured background, so I sprayed the back of the Random Dots stencil from Picket Fence Studios with Pixie Spray and adhered the stencil onto heavyweight cardstock. I used my Stencil Pal to apply a thin layer of Deco Foil Transfer Gel over the stencil and set the cardstock aside to dry for about an hour until the Transfer Gel was completely clear. Once the gel was dry I cut a piece of Pink Quartz Deco Foil to be slightly larger than my card front and placed it pretty side up onto my cardstock and ran it through my laminator.
Deco Foil Transfer Gel
You could definitely leave the pretty spotted foiled background at this point – but I wanted to see if I could add even more texture! I grabbed the Random Dots stencil again and repositioned it onto my background but slightly offset so the dots didn’t line up. I used my Stencil Pal again to apply more Deco Foil Transfer Gel over the top and let it dry until it was clear. This time I cut a piece of a Think Pink Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheet to be a bit larger than my background and ran it through my laminator. I’m SO SO SO excited with how this background turned out! The mix of foil and flock is better than I could have hoped for!
Of course, a pink background calls for flamingos! The That’s Flocking Great stamp set from Picket Fence Studios has a bunch of amazing flamingo images and bunches of punny sentiments! I stamped all of the flamingos at once using my Mini MISTI. This guy is a staple in my craft room! I have a small craft desk so the Mini MISTI is perfectly sized for my workspace and I love that I can stamp a whole bunch of images at once!
I colored my flamingos and cut them out. I also stamped a sentiment and trimmed it out with my scissors. I used iCraft 3D White Foam Squares ( with some iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive for an insurance policy. I always do this if I’m adhering images onto a textured background!) to add my flamingos and sentiment onto my card. Here’s my video tutorial!
