Hello, it’s Ellen here, taking over the Therm O Web blog. For today’s project, I created two cheerful birthday cards using Therm O Web Deco Foil Plush Papers, with an inlay die technique and a touch of Deco Foil Transfer Foil for shine.

I’ll walk you through the process step by step using the photos below.

Step 1 – Cutting the Foam Panel

I started by die cutting my card panel from Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheets using an inlay die. Cutting the design from the foam first adds dimension and creates the perfect base for working with Deco Foil Plush Papers later on.

Step 2 – Adding the Plush Papers

Next, I adhered the foam shapes onto the Plush Papers. Once everything was secured, I ran the foam with the Plush Paper back through the die-cutting machine. This ensures that all the details line up perfectly and gives a beautifully soft, dimensional look to the design.

Step 3 – Assembling the Card

After all the pieces were cut and had a plush touch, I assembled the design onto my card base. The left-over foam makes it easy to place each element in the correct position on the card. It creates a clean and professional finish with lots of texture!

Step 4 – Adding Foil Accents

To finish the cards, I added Deco Foil details to the sentiments.
Foiling is simple. Here, I used a Gina K. Designs Poly-Glaze sentiment sheet I got with my Fuse Foiling System Laminator. Trim the sentiment to desired size, place the foil on top, and then run it through the Fuse Foiling System Laminator or normal laminator. Peel away the foil to reveal a shiny, eye-catching result.
