Hello and welcome!
It’s Julia from Inflorescence Designs! I’m so joyful you are visiting today. For today’s tutorial, I am going to show you how to use Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive to add shimmer and shine to all your fabric projects.
CREATE with Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive & HeatnBond
Supplies:
- HeatnBond Lite Fusible Adhesive
- Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive
- Deco Foil (I am using Brutus Monroe Rainglow)
- Jean Jacket or other item of clothing
- Optional: I patched a hole in my jacket using HeatnBond Craft Extra Firm Interfacing)
- Fabric for letters and optional heart
- Stencil or die cut lettering system (if making a printed stencil, remember to print in reverse)
- Basic Sewing Notions
Instructions:
Begin by…
Trace your stencil on the paper side of the HeatnBond Lite and cut it out.
Remove the paper backing and adhere it to your article of clothing. Heartbond Lite must be sewn.
For a no sew option, consider HeatnBond Ultra in the red packaging.
Applique your letters to your garment. I used a blanket stitch with pretty multi-colored thread.
Next…
Apply the Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive and let it dry. To adhere the foil, simply layer the foil right side facing up over the dried adhesive then apply pressure and peel away.
Optional Step:
I covered the hole by using HeatnBond Craft Extra Firm Interfacing. I placed the interfacing on the inside of the jacket and gently pressed it over the hole.
I finish the front of the jacket with an appliqued heart and more rainbow deco foil to match the back.
Finished!
