Hello there! Shemaine here today sharing a fun Valentine banner I made using GINA K. DESIGNS FOIL-MATES™ BACKGROUNDS • BLOOMING HEARTS along with GINA K. DESIGNS FANCY FOILS™ 6″ X 8″ • RADIANT RED and GOLD SEQUINS. I really enjoy decorating my home for the holidays and this banner tied in perfectly with some of the other Valentine decors I have collected over the years.

American Crafts DIY Banner and Bits

Misc ribbon and red tulle

First, take the centers out of the Heart Throb Shaker foam hearts and peeled off the top to apply a piece of the GINA K. DESIGNS FANCY FOILS™ 6″ X 8″ • GOLD SEQUINS.

Good tip: when I apply foil to a sticker surface, running it thru my Sizzix Big Shot like an embossing folder between the two plates ..it gives me the smoothest result.

Necxt…peel back the foil and as shown, the result is a very smooth application. Too much pressure results in squishing the foam and causing the foil to look distorted.

Then peel off the backing to stick the foiled heart onto the banner. Finish them with a love die cut also from the shaker heart kit.

Foil the GINA K. DESIGNS FOIL-MATES™ BACKGROUNDS • BLOOMING HEARTS with GINA K. DESIGNS FANCY FOILS™ 6″ X 8″ • RADIANT RED.

For foiling you want to create a “sandwich” with a piece of parchment paper folded in half, add the Radiant Red Foil color side up onto the Foil-Mates and then add a piece of cardstock under. Place all items into the parchment tucking against the fold. Feed the fold first into a hot laminator.

You’ll want to cut away the gold foil on the banner piece to use as a template to cut the Foil-Mates to fit the inside of the triangle.

Adhere the heart cut out over the Foil-Mates paper and adhere the American Crafts bits letter L with foam adhesive. Sprinkle some red microbeads and misc gold star sequins. You’ll want to cover up the top of the hearts with the clear heart to hold the shaker contents inside.

Use the Heart Throb shaker heart die to cut the red cardstock in the GINA K. DESIGNS PREMIUM CARDSTOCK 8.5″ X 11″• PRIME TIME.  Use the MEMORY TAPE RUNNER XL™ to adhere the die cuts onto the shakers.

Finish off the banner by tieing tulle and ribbon on between each banner.

Here’s a close up of how smooth the foil applied to the hearts and the love die.

The bits letters spell LOVE as well. These shakers really made the banner interesting and fun to create.
