Welcome, welcome crafty friends! So glad you’re here today. This is Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook and I’m sharing a fun card featuring images from the Birthday Bliss Adhesive Transfers pack. These transfers are so easy to use and today I’m showing how you can layer them together for a different look.

Happy Birthday Card with Layered Adhesive Transfers

Products used today:
Deco Foil Transfers – twinkling pink, black and gold
Deco Foil Adhesive Transfers – birthday bliss
UltraBond liquid glue pen
Craft & Carrier sheets
3D foam tape and squares
Mama Elephant Party Animals stamps and dies
Trinity Stamps Embossed Edge Circle dies
Trinity Stamps Embossed Edge Rectangle dies
Distress Oxide – peacock feathers and uncharted mariner
Twiddler’s Nook Sweetheart clay embellishments
Glossy accents

To start, I chose the images I wanted to foil and trimmed them from the sheet. These cut apart super easy so don’t be shy. Next, I die cut a circle just bigger than the candle image I’m using. I removed the clear backer from the image and placed it on the circle in the center. Then I added that to a Craft & Carrier sheet and ran it through my laminator.

***Two notes here – You don’t have to use a laminator for these products. The pressure of a die cutter will work. I have done both and I personally like the pressure my laminator gives more so that’s what I use. Second, When you remove the acetate covering your adhesive transfer you won’t see anything. I promise it worked. Tilt it in the light and you’ll see the shiny image was left behind. You can see it here in the photo above.

Next, cut some small pieces of foil and lay them on the areas you want them to foil. I trimmed small sections of gold for the flames first and then covered the rest with twinkling pink. Placed it all back in the carrier sheet and ran it through the laminator again.

I removed the foil transfer pieces and repeated the process all over again with the Happy Birthday transfer that was in the same Birthday Bliss pack. This time I used black deco foil so my sentiment turned out shiny black over the top of the candles. Isn’t that so cool!?!?!

With my foiling done, I switched gears to the background panel which I ink blended with distress oxide inks. Today I opened my new uncharted mariner and paired it with peacock feathers. Aren’t they gorgeous together?!? I spritzed the panel with water and let it dry before die cutting it with a rectangle.

Finally, I stamped and colored some cuties from the Mama Elephant Party Animals stamp set. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and started adhering the layers of my card.

First, I used 3D foam tape roll to add the ink blended panel to a white card base. Then I popped the foiled circle up on that. Finally, I added the images with a combination of liquid glue and foam squares.

For finishing touches, I added a black glaze pen to the critter eyes and glossy accents to the cake candles, stars on the hats, critter noses and beaks. I came in with Copic markers to fill in the center flame of the foiled candles with Y17 and Y11. Next, I glued a scattering of white clay hearts from Twiddler’s Nook Sweethearts clay embellishment mix around the design.

I hope you’ll give this fun technique a try. I can’t wait to see which images you try to layer together.

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
