Hi Therm O Web fans, this is Jenifer here with you today to share this fun drawstring bag that I made for my daughter to use on our various summer car trips we end up taking. She can fill it full of books and iPods and anything that will keep her entertained while in the car.
Have you ever been inspired by so many things that you kind of get overloaded and you don’t make anything? Well this little reversible drawstring bag combined 4 different inspirations that I put into one project.

The drawstring pouch directions can be found here. I altered the size to be a little bit bigger so that I could use this awesome Cori Dantini fabric from Blend.

With this smaller size of project it can also give you the opportunity to try new techniques. Everything about Maureen Cracknell is inspirational, she has a fun Quilt as You Go technique that I wanted to try so this was my chance.
Quilt as You Go is where you do your sewing and quilting at the same time on a piece of fleece or batting. I used a piece of StitchNSew™ Sew-in fleece that I had left over from another project. The Sew-in Fleece is the perfect weight for this type of project and it is a great way to use up some of your scraps.
I love this quote on a tapestry sold at Pottery Barn and I thought it would be perfect on this bag. You do not need a fancy cutting machine to be able to do this. I printed out in word what I wanted to say and in the font of my choice. I then traced it onto the Deco Foil™ Hot Melt adhesive and cut out my quote with a pair of small scissors while watching a movie. As you can see the hardest part is trying to pick out which lovely color of foil to use. The Pink Melon Foil won this time. It still takes my breath away every time I peel the foil back after it has cooled and I am left with this fun foiled image.
Don’t be overwhelmed by all of the inspiration around you, find a way to get it out in your projects. I can’t guarantee that it will work every time but you will have fun trying new things.
