Hey there Thermoweb friends, Becki here. Today I have an easy mixed media canvas made with Deco Foil to share with you. I’ll be honest, mixed media is a little scary and a lot intimidating to me. But, I can do it with the awesome new iCraft® Mixed Media sheets and Deco Foil products.

Mixed Media Canvas with Deco Foil Instructions:

I started by watercoloring my 8×8 canvas. While I had my watercolors sitting on my desk, I watercolored a few circles onto a NEW iCraft® Mixed media sheet in various colors.

After letting the watercolored Mixed Media sheet dry, I cut the circles out. I simply traced around a small dish with a pencil and cut out the circles.

Then I made the circles into yo-yo flowers by stitching around the edge of the circles and folded the edges into the center. I added a button in the center of each flower.

I cut the “be brave” portion of the canvas with my electronic die cut machine out of cardstock. Then I covered the die cut with adhesive using the Deco Foil™ adhesive pen.

After briefly allowing the adhesive to dry I used the new watercolor foils to cover the die cut.

I covered the “be brave” with the Amethyst watercolor deco foil and the die cut leaves with the Emerald Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets.

After creating all the elements for the canvas, I adhered them to the canvas using small bits of SuperTape™.

I was finished with this easy mixed media canvas in no time! If mixed media is intimidating or scary for you, you definitely need to try this project.

Could you put the deco foil directly on the canvas instead of the card stock first?

Hi Pam! You could use our Deco Foil Adhesive Pen to write, draw etc directly on the canvas and then just rub the Deco Foil onto that. You could also die cut our Deco Foil Foam Sheets and then rub the foil on that as well if you do not have a heat source such as a laminator to use. Hope that helps! Julia
