It’s always sad when Christmas is over, all the decorations are put away and life seems to be returning to “normal”. I sewed up this little pillow to cheer myself up! It’s not Christmasy – it’s Wintery!! It’s perfect to put on your couch for the month of January when things seem bare. The pillow is made of gray wool with the deer and tree appliqués using Heat n Bond® Lite. You can print the images right on to the EZ print sheets! Let’s get started!
Cozy Winter Pillow Featuring Heat n Bond EZ Print Sheets
Supplies:
Heat n Bond® Lite EZ Print sheets
Deer and Tree Pattern, download HERE
1/2 yard Gray Wool
Fabric for deer and tree
2 1/4 yard Pom Pom Trim
22″ Zipper
Fiber Fill
Cozy Winter Pillow Project Instructions:
Begin by printing the tree and deer onto the HeatnBond® EZ Print sheets according to the manufacturers instructions. Make sure you print once regular and then print again as a “mirror” image so you get the deer facing both directions. If all you have is Heat n Bond® Lite, you can trace the images. Heat set the shapes to the wrong side of the desired fabric.
Cut out each shape along the pattern line. Peel off backing paper.
Cut two pieces of gray wool 22″ x 14.5″
Center the tree and the deer. Heat set in place. I turned the heat down a touch since I was ironing on wool. Stitch around each appliqué shape two times in gray thread.
Baste the pom pom trim around the pillow front.
Insert the zipper toward the lower half of the pillow back. This makes it easy to stuff. You can always leave an opening and hand stitch closed if you don’t want to use a zipper. Place the pillow front to the pillow back right sides together. Leave the zipper partially open. Sew all the way around the pillow. The seam allowance will be determined by the width of the trim. Mine was 1/2″.
Turn and stuff with fiber fill.
I love how it turned out! A fun little wintery project to make you smile!!!
