With summer temperatures finally dropping to decent levels, it is definitely time to welcome the wonderful coolness of autumn. I’m loving the gorgeous orange colors in the tree leaves and pumpkins in-store displays, aren’t you! It is also such a fun time to bring out all those autumn quilts.
Hello Autumn Fabric Pumpkin Quilt
52″ x 60″
Making the Hello Autumn quilt is so much easier with ThermOWeb products.
The Heat n Bond Lite EZ Print Sheets work in your inkjet printer to create your designs on iron-on adhesive without tracing. You’ll love them!
Once the applique designs have been printed on the Heat n Bond Lite EZ Print Sheets, iron them to the wrong side of your fabrics. An Oliso iron is a great tool for this!
A Dresden is easier to make than it looks, especially with the right products like Heat n Bond Light Weight Non-Woven Interfacing and Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive. Ironing the interfacing to the wrong side of Dresden backing adds stability to it for sewing the designs in place. The spray adhesive holds the Dresden in place for stitching it to background fabric.
Create Dresden plates by folding one in half lengthwise, right sides together, and sew ¼” seam across top as shown below. Turn Dresden plate inside out and use a chopstick or other dull pointed object to create point in Dresden plate. Center the seam and press. Repeat with all Dresden plates.
With right sides together, sew two plates together matching top corners, sewing from top to bottom. Continue to add plates until the circle is complete. If the bottoms don’t totally match, it’s okay, they will be covered by the Dresden center circle.
An easy way to find the center of the block is to fold the square in half and lightly press the fold. Fold in half again and press fold. Spray the wrong side of the Dresden with Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive. Open and center Dresden on ironed creases. Finger press in place.
Press Dresden to remove any wrinkles. Sew around edges of Dresden and circles using a straight, zig-zag, or blanket stitch.
Stitch n Sew High Loft Fleece 60” wide makes a great lightweight filler for quilts or wall hangings. Using Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive to sandwich the fleece between your quilt top and back makes it a breeze to prep for quilting.
