Bon Voyage Card Tutorial

Since we’ve got a couple of messy, drying-time-involved, steps today I jumped in with the first one straight off. I took a white panel and taped down the first layer of my Retro Sun & Palms stencil. I spread Deco Foil Transfer Gel Blanco through it and let it dry completely.

While it was drying, I stamped and colored images from Beach Barks and Summer Moments with my Copic markers. Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Once the transfer gel was dry and my laminator was heated up, I ran the panel through with summer rainbow deco foil in a parchment paper transfer sheet.

Next, I took a strip of midnight blue deco foil flock and adhered it to a piece of Easy-Cut adhesive sheet. Then I die cut the words “bon voyage” using the essential alphabet dies. This makes the letters like stickers! It’s such a time saver and keeps your fingers from getting messy in the glue. I also did this with white cardstock 3 times and stacked the letters for a dimensional look.

For the ground in my scene, I wanted waves and sand so I inked up two scrap pieces of white cardstock with distress oxide inks. I spritzed them with water and flicked the darker color on the respective panel. Then I came in with white acrylic paint for some more texture. I used the sea and land borders dies to cut waves and a sandy hill.

I adhered the hills to the foiled panel and then taped down the palm layer of the stencil over the top. I spread black glitz glitter gel through it. I set this panel aside to dry for quite a while before coming back to adhere to my sentiment and images.

I adhered the seashells with my Ultra Bond Glue Pen and popped the cute puppies up with foam squares. I removed the backing paper from the adhesive on the letters and stuck them in place working from the center out.

For finishing touches, I added glossy accents to the puppies’ sunglasses, noses, and collar tag. Then I added unicorn Stickles to the flowers on the lei and all of the seashells. I felt like this brought the bling over the whole card for even shine and shimmer.

Aren’t these pups so stinking cute?!? I just love them! I also feel like this card has a variety of uses. It could be for something taking a vacation or maybe even a retirement card too!

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
