I like to get messy right before I go to bed so that things can dry overnight. Otherwise, I can be an impatient crafter and am really good at smearing things. So to start things off I chose the petite clouds stencil and light blue cardstock. I spread brilliant blue glitz glitter gel through the stencil with my stencil pal, peeled the stencil away, and set the panel aside to dry. The next day when it was dry, I cut it out with the third-largest mini slimline stitched panel die.
Also the night before, I took a piece of darker blue cardstock and just smeared iridescent glitz glitter gel along one edge of it. The next morning I cut the word “BLUE” out with Finley’s ABCs dies along the edge so half of my letters were glitzy and the other half were not. I saved the rest of the panel for another time. I’ll totally use all that glittery awesomeness another day.
Next, I took out the tiny gift box bee add-on dies out and cut the pieces for a flat bee to put on my card. This is designed for the gift box but it’s fun to use these critters on card fronts too. I cut the body from the sunshine yellow flock and the wings from iridescent vellum so this bee has lots of visual interest and is super cute! I used my Ultrabond pen to glue all the pieces together. I also stamped part of a sentiment from heartfelt greetings on a die-cut banner to customize my greeting to say “BEE well soon” instead of “get well soon.” I thought it was punny and cute!
For assembly on my card, I cut the largest mini slimline panel die from white cardstock and adhered it to a white card base. This way both layers have great stitching detail. Then I popped the cloudy panel up with foam tape. I decided my “blue” letters were lacking so I cut them 3 more times from white cardstock and adhered them together with my glue pen and then to the card front. I needed the word “feeling” so I dug in my stash and found it as part of the sentiment in the Chicks stamp set. I stamped it in blue and cut it out before popping it up too.
Next, I glued the banner to the side of the bee and added foam squares to the back of them before adding them to the bottom part of my card front. Eeeekkk! It’s coming together so great!
Here’s a closer look at the top part of the card too. Isn’t that detail of the glitz on the letters just so awesome! I really love that part!
I think this card turned out so fun and happy! That bee just jumps out from all the gorgeous blue and I love it! I think this is a great card to have in my stash to send when someone is needing it. It will be so perfect when the time comes!
I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
