Anchor’s Away
By Heather Collins
My best friend is on a cruise and I wanted to make her a little thank you gift. I found a small light up unfinished wooden anchor and thought that would work perfectly.
To start this project I painted my unfinished wooden anchor with “Brutus Monroe’s Chroma Mist | Peacock” and “Brutus Monroe’s Chroma Mist | Lime”. Then lastly splattered it with “Brutus Monroe’s Aqua Splash | Raven”. Then I heat set it with a heat tool.
Next I took a piece of “Deco Foil Plush Papers, White Latte” and using a black pen, I drew the shape I wanted on the back of the Plush Paper and used scissors to cut it out. I attached these cut outs with “iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive”.
Lastly, I took my finger and rubbed “iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive” in different places on the anchor and let dry till it was tacky. Then I placed the “Deco Foil Transfer Sheets, Gold” and rubbed, with the shinny side up. Then transfered the foil in a shattered placement on my anchor.
To finish the piece I added a chipboard sentiment. I love how this anchor came out and I think my friend will too.
