It’s Katrina here today to share a fun and quick way to altered those composition books that are usually on mega sale this time of year. I love to pick these up and use them for all different kinds of things. This version is perfect for those girl “tweens” in your life that are heading back to school. They will be the cool kid with the customized notebook! Also, a great idea for a sleep over project later in the school year.

Instructions:
Cover the front of book with pattern paper of your choice using the Zips™ Craft adhesive lines. Run a several lengths of the lines on the cover of the book. Start by wrapping the paper around the spine and working to the right, where the book opens. Trim excess edges and then sand edges smooth. Inking edges is optional, but will cover any rough edges.
Punch a border strip and cut it the width of your book. Place at the top using the Sticky Tape Mini Runner to hold it in place.
Cut two chevron strips and then trim them to the width of your book. Adhere the first strip down with your Sticky Tape Mini runner. For the second strip, use the 3D Foam Adhesive Squares and layer them along the back. At this point attached the Glitter Dust™ Photo Corners to the points of the chevron. Trim from the top of the notched point of the photo corner in a straight line across, creating just a triangle. Adhere the triangle to the tops of the chevron points. Do not slide the photo corner on, but just place it on top.
Here is a close up of the completed chevron strip.
Decorate the rest of the book with a variety of fun embellishments, using the Sticky Tape Mini Runner and the 3D Foam Adhesive Squares. Remember, nothing too bulky if this is going to be carried around at school!
