Let’s take a closer look how to make this card…
Add a Touch of Spring to Your Cards with New Gina K Designs Instructions
To begin, create a standard A2 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base from Premium White Cardstock. Trim a 2″ x 5.5″ panel of new Vibrant Vines Foil-Mates Sheet. Turn on your laminator and let it heat up while gathering the rest of your supplies.
Trim a piece of Grass Green Fancy Foil transfer foil that is slightly bigger than the Foil-Mates background panel. Place a scrap piece of cardstock between a sheet of folded parchment paper. On top of the scrap cardstock, place the Foil-Mate sheet (with the design side up), and then place the foil on top (with the colored side up and the silver side down).
Fold the parchment cover closed over the foil, insert the folded edge first into the laminator, and run this sandwich through the machine.
Peel back the foil to reveal the beautiful foiled pattern you’ve just created. Isn’t that new Vibrant Vine pattern gorgeous?
Adhere the foiled panel to the right side of your card base using Memory Tape Runner XL. Trim a 2.5″ x 5.5 piece of black Premium Cardstock. Using a border punch, punch scallops along one of the long edges of the cardstock piece, and then adhere this panel to the left side of the card base. Now we’ll work on the focal panel. To begin, trim a 3.25″ x 4.25″ piece of Premium White Cardstock. Stamp the sentiment onto the top right corner of the panel using black ink.
Wrap twine around the center of the card base, tying it into a bow at the top. Place strips of Therm O Web’s iCraft Double-Sided Adhesive Foam onto the back of the stamped panel, and then adhere it to the center of the card. For the focal stamped image, die cut two sets of leaves from the Where Flowers Bloom Foil-Mates Detail Sheets using the coordinating Where Flowers Bloom Foil-Mates Craft Dies.
The new Therm O Web Purple Tape is the perfect choice for securing those dies in place, as it’s low-tack adhesive won’t tear the paper. When you’re done die cutting the leaves, die cut one of the largest flower shapes from the Detail Sheet, too.
Ink up the coordinating leaf stamps from the Where Flowers Bloom Stamp n’ Foil Clear Stamp Set using Gina K Designs Jelly Bean Green Premium Dye Ink, and then stamp the images onto the die cut leaves. Repeat the process with the die cut flower using Gina K Designs Mango ink. Stamp the stamen image onto the center of the flower using black ink.
Now we’re ready to add foil to our stamped images! You will do this in the same way that we added foil to the Foil-Mates background. Simply cut pieces of transfer foil that are slightly larger than the stamped images.
Create a sandwich between the folded sheets of parchment starting with the scrap cardstock, followed by the die cut image (with the design facing up), and then the transfer foil (with the colored side up and the silver side down). Run the sandwich through the laminator to transfer the foil to the stamped images. I used Grass Green Fancy Foils for the leaves and the new Dazzling Orange Fancy Foil for the flower.
Arrange the leaves and the flower onto the bottom of the center panel, allowing the images to overlap and hang off the edge. Adhere the leaves directly to the panel, and use a bit of Double-Sided Adhesive Foam to elevate the focal flower.
Stamp a few of the smaller flower images onto white cardstock using Mango Dye Ink, and die cut them with their coordinating dies. Tuck the smaller flowers under the leaves and largest flower. Embellish the centers of the flowers with enamel dots.
Enjoy!
