Hi there, Amy from Sew Incredibly Crazy here to show you how easy it is to add a little DecoFoil to any quilting project.
My daughter loves peacocks so I created a design for her. She has a giant 24″ pillow that she love to have upon her bed. After finishing appliquéing, the design onto the pillow, I decided that it needed some added bling.
To do that, I grabbed several colors of the iCraft® DecoFoil™ , a sheet of iCraft Deco Foil™ Hot Melt Adhesive , parachment paper with comes with the adhesive, and paper punches.
First, sandwich the Deco Foil Hot Melt Adhesive in between parchment paper.
Use your hole punch on the Deco Foil Hot Melt Adhesive sandwich.
It gives you perfect circles. You will find, just like with paper, not all punches are created equally. If it doesn’t work well on paper, it probably will not cut through the adhesive very easily.
Iron the Deco Foil Hot Melt Adhesive circle on to the area of fabric. Remove paper, iron the iCraft DecoFoil on to the adhesive. Remove the foil sheet.
I hope this inspires you to give it a try. I know that I sure love to play with it.
