Let's Celebrate Mother's Day with Therm O Web!

Hello Crafty Friends! Mother’s Day will be here next Sunday, so I wanted to give you a couple of ideas for Mother’s Day cards! Mother’s have all different types of likes, designs and colors! I wanted to create something special and unique for Mother’s Day using foil with a whole lot of sparkle! So, I mixed up my cards with some of the new Therm O Web products and some Gina K Design goodies!

So let’s get started with my first card! I really enjoyed last month making the black and white card! I wanted to step it up a bit with the sparkle, so, I pulled out my secret weapon, Brutus Monroe “Magical Shattered Glass” transfer sheet that will turn non-sparkle foil into a beautiful new sparkled foil color! I added the Magical Shattered Glass to the NEW Gina K Designs Fancy Foil, Black Onyx! I also used the Brutus Monroe “Pewter Lane” Deco Foil transfer sheets. For the sentiment, I used the NEW Deco Foil “Spring Ahead” Toner Sentiments and used Deco Foil “Prince Periwinkle” for the color.

I gathered all the foil and Black Toner cards and ran my Black Onyx through the fuse foiling system and then ran it back through with the Magical Shattered Glass to get my center piece of the card. Then I ran it through with another piece of Black Onyx and kept that as my base piece. The last color I ran through is Pewter Lane and die cut that piece. I took the sentiment card and placed the Prince Periwinkle foil on top (shinny side up) and ran that through the fuse! I kept the temperature settings at 4.

Then I assembled the card and added the white outline of Gina K’s Curved Floral Banner. I added some black shiny embellishments to the white floral outline!

For my second card, I wanted to create a beautiful flower card for Mother’s Day! I received a Gina K Design “Double Peony”art stencil and I wanted to create some pinkish-purple peonies for the card! The set comes with four stencil layers. For the first layer I just inked it up with some Lovely Lavender! I starting taking pictures at the second stencil, in which I used Gina K’s Glitz Glitter Gel in Lovely Lavender. I let that dry overnight. Then I used the third stencil which is the leaves. I inked it up first with Gina K’s Key Lime, and then I inked a portion of the same leaves using a darker green Fresh Asparagus. For the fourth and final stencil, I used Gina K ‘s new Iridescent Gel Pens (this was an experiment)! I love how the yellow dots turned out, but the green color was not the right green. There are four green colors in this fabulous gel pen pack, and I just picked the wrong one! I did go back over the gel pen green with Fresh Asparagus. I also went back to the first stencil and inked it up with a Dark Orchid and it definitely brought the colors together!

Next, I foiled a solid black toner card with “Twinkling Pink” and used it as a card base. I also foiled the sentiment in the same color. I die cut the panel for the flowers and I put 3D foam behind them to create some interest.

Here is the finished card! I added some ribbon and embellishments! ***I always like to mention when I make a mistake as maybe it can save someone making it themselves. I haven’t worked with a lot of gel or mixed media lately and I forgot to die cut my flower panel before I put Gina K’s gorgeous Glitz Gel on it! I feel like no matter how long you let it dry, running the card panel through the die cutting machine will always smash or flatten the gel! Lol! The great part about it Mom will love it either way!
