Hello and welcome!

It’s Julia from Inflorescence Designs! I’m so joyful you are visiting today. For today’s tutorial, I am going to show you how to add some applique to create a fun Halloween costume using HeatnBond as well as make some matching Deco Foil earrings!

My Halloween costume is inspired by the American Pop Artist Roy Lichtenstein.  He created amazing paintings using comic books and advertisements as his inspiration.  He is also known for his use of dots in his work.

Pop Art Halloween with HeatnBond and Deco Foil

Supplies:

Instructions:

Begin by…

Print out the pattern or create your own.  Cut out the pieces and tape/glue them together.

Next…

Fuse the HeatnBond Lite to the wrong side of your chosen fabric.

Then…

Spray your stencil with SpraynBond Pattern & Stencil Spray.  This helps it not slip while tracing the intricate letters.  Make sure your pattern is facing down.  This is especially important when tracing any letters or words.  Once your pattern is traced, cut out each piece.

Next…

Arrange your cut pieces and adhere them to your costume.

Finally…

Applique your pattern to your costume.  With HeatnBond Lite, sewing is necessary.  If you would rather have a no-sew option, try using HeatnBond Ultra in the red packaging.  You can also use HeatnBond Feather Lite for less bulk with all the layers.

Finished!

Deco Foil Earrings

Let’s make some matching dot earrings!

To make the matching earrings, apply the Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive and let it dry.  To adhere the foil, simply layer the foil right side facing up over the dried adhesive then apply pressure and peel away.

Thank you for visiting today!  Come back soon to see what else will be starting to bloom with Inflorescence Designs!
