Hello friends! This is Jennifer Long from Sew A Story, a fabric designer with Riley Blake Designs and a doll and quilt pattern designer. And I wanted to share a fun Halloween tutorial with you!

Stitch a wickedly easy quilted witch’s hat to wear as a Halloween costume. My pattern comes with templates to make an adult size and a matching child’s hat! This pattern uses templates to achieve the shape. You can also embellish with beautiful 3D fabric flowers to finish the hat.

Let’s start sewing! Just gather the supplies below, and then download the pattern. Don’t forget to share your Quilted Witch’s Hat on social media using the hashtag #LittleWitchFabric and tag @sewastory_jenniferlong

Materials

I used fabric from my Little Witch fabric collection with Riley Blake Designs (in stores April 2024) for the project! This fabric is more spooky than scary, featuring whimsical pumpkins, potions, spiders, cats, witches, and more! You’ll love the fussy-cutting opportunities this fabric provides.

In this video, I walk you through the steps of creating this adorable hat and my favorite products for a sturdy hat. I hope this video is helpful as you sew this fun hat!
