Hello! I’m all about flowers and foil today! I’ve got a few ways to add foil to your flowers. I started this one with a gel print I created with the Tiki Tiles stencil from Miss Ink.
I cut the daisies from Easy Cut Adhesive.
It’s best to arrange your flowers before you stick them down so you can move them around until you find an arrangement that you like. Once I had the look I wanted, I peeled off one side of the adhesive and adhered them in a random pattern to the gel print.
I ran the panel through my die cutter using the pressure to get good contact and then peeled off the other side of the adhesive leaving the sticky shape.
Then just lay the foil you want to transfer over the top and run it through again. I have a clear acetate folder I put my pieces in when I do this to protect them. You could just lay a piece of paper over the top also.
Then just peel the foil back and enjoy the sparkle!
I had cut a couple of the adhesive flowers in half before applying them and after cutting out the panel, I realized I had a corner where the flower was cut off so I decided to add a curvy panel over the top using some foam adhesive.
I die cut some centers for the flowers and used thin foam to pop them up in the centers and finally a sentiment using Adhesive Transfers from the Unity Let’s Celebrate pack. The process is very similar to using Easy Cut Adhesive. I added these to white cardstock and fussy cut them out and then popped them onto the curvy panel.
Really cool right!? It’s a whole new way to use some of your dies.
Next I created a bumpy card for a friend in some pretty Fall colors.
I started with a couple simple gel prints.. sometimes I like to make some plain ones to use for die cuts. I sprayed on some Glitter Dust … if possible I like to do this outside and I have a box I use to make my messes… it’s so pretty.. someday I might switch it out and make something from it!
Isn’t the shimmer so pretty?? I used gold. But this isn’t about the gold… I let this dry until tacky… which doesn’t take very long with this spray.
Then I ran it through my Fuse machine with some Magical Shattered Glass! When I do this it works best if you let it cool just a little and then peel off the deco foil film and voila! SO pretty!
Then I went about cutting out some pretty fall leaves.
You can see I did the same with my plaid gel print! The Magical Shattered Glass really is my favorite Deco Foil and I just can never have too much! I cut a frame for over the top and used Gina K Shaker Strips to pop it up… they’re perfect with or without the shaker!
Then I proceed to arrange my gel print leaves, some paper flowers, and some flowers I die cut from another foiled gel print. I also added pretty turquoise leaves cut from teal Plush Paper… I love the texture they added!
And finally a sentiment from the Unity Blooming Friendship Adhesive Transfers… you know I love to add sentiments to acetate so they can hover over my project seemingly floating!
I added some gold foil to the paper flowers too which I’ll share in a second!
Finally I decided to make a mini mixed media canvas!
I started with a little 4×4 canvas and painted over the whole thing with some turquoise acrylic paint. I’m not fussy and with projects like these you don’t have to be!
When the paint was dry, I added some Transfer Gel Duo through that beautiful Gina K stencil and let it dry to tacky.
Then I laid a solid sheet of foil over the top and scraped over the top of it.
I adhered a gold Glitter Dust frame onto it (they are adhesive!). Then I started gluing my flowers and leaves on using Mixed Media Adhesive.
I added some Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive and let that dry to tacky…
And in the same way that I added the foil to the stenciling, I pressed it over the adhesive on the flowers for just a touch of sparkle!
Of course I added some more Plush Paper die cuts and for this sentiment I die cut the thankful from some foiled toner paper and stacked it over a couple cardstock ones to give it some structure and then glued it strategically to the flowers. Easy peasy!
I hope you enjoyed my tips on applying Deco Foil to your favorite floral products!
Whether you’re making flat cards, bumpy cards, or….
.. a Mixed Media canvas… a little foil is the perfect add!
Thank you so much for coming! Come again soon!
