Hello there! Summer is in full swing and I am loving all the colors and feels of summer where I live in the Southbay of Los Angeles. Since I live near the beach, I love sea-inspired Home Decor. Today I am sharing a fun project I created from some supplies I had on hand along with Deco Foil Transfer Sheets and Deco Foil Transfer gel. And of course, it’s sea-themed! Let’s get to it!

Mermaid Heart Summer Home Decor with Deco Foil Instructions:
To create the mermaid heart start with a 9×9 sheet of watercolor paper. I find that it absorbs the DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER GEL better than 110lb cardstock. Using our PURPLE TAPE, tape your stencil over the paper and apply the transfer gel. Lift the stencil and set aside to dry for at least 2 hours.
I cut out a heart template to trace and cut the deco foiled cardstock into a heart after I foil it.
While the transfer gel is drying you can use Cricut Design space to upload and cut the Mermaid at Heart SVG file with your Cricut Explore and weed the inside of the letters. Set the image aside.
Once the transfer gel has dried, cut your foil to go over the dried transfer gel and run thru your laminator.
After it cools, lift to reveal the foiling.
Using hot glue (because I am too impatient to use liquid glue but it will work as well) trace the edge of the heart and apply the rope as you lay down the glue and press to adhere. This is a quick and easy process and the end result is worth it.
Cut a piece of Cricut strong transfer sheet to fit the glitter vinyl title. Place over the vinyl and burnish so that you can lift the image to place on the glass of the shadow box.
Using SUPERTAPE™ ROLL • 1/2 IN., Place several strips on the back of the heart cut out and mount to the back of the shadow box. Using hot glue, attach the starfish.
Place the transfer sheet with the vinyl sentiment over the heart and burnish it onto the glass of the shadow box.
Here’s the finished look. Now it’s ready to be displayed.
Thank you for stopping by today.
