Hey all! I had the pleasure of playing with paint, glue, Decofoil, heat n’ bond and fabrics and of course sewing to create this fun pillow. My teen is all about the pineapples and I can’t blame her, this pillow will set in her newly redecorated room when all is said and done. This is what I did…

Project Supplies:

Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets • Amber WatercolorEmerald WatercolorSilver

iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive 2.1 fl oz
HeatnBond EZ Print Lite • 8.5″x11″

Oliso Iron
Linen Fabric, 3/4 yard
Fabric Paint – white
quilters cotton fabric – 1/4 yard yellow and green
Stuffin’ (I like to buy a $3 bed pillow at walmart to fill mine. 😉
Sponge Dauber
Small Paint brush
Freezer Paper
Sewing machine
Electronic Cutter (or old school it with a hobby knife)

Project Instructions:

Create a stencil from freezer paper with my Artisitic Edge electronic cutter. Press freezer paper to linen with Oliso iron, don’t forget to get all the appropriate inside peaces in place on letters like A, B, P, R…O, D.

Apply a layer of fabric paint with a sponge dauber in a dabbing motion. Don’t over load sponge add more paint as needed. Let Dry. The layer of paint adds a nice base for the next step.

With a small paint brush apply iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive 2.1 fl oz in a thin coat around the edges of the painted letters. Apply 1 row at a time. Let dry till tacky to the touch then place silver Decofoil over and burnish. Peel back foil. The adhesive will grab the foil on the highs of the linen texture, if you prefer more foil coverage lay the foil back over top and burnish again. Repeat adhesive, dry, foil process in same manner for each row.

Print pineapple on HeatnBond EZ Print Lite • 8.5″x11″. Cut bottom of pineapple and the “crown” apart from one another. With Oliso iron press yellow fabric to the body and green on the “crown”.

Cut each part of the pineapple apart along the printed lines.

Peal paper backing off of all the pineapple bits and place fabric on the pillow front fabric side up. Press in place.

Stitch around edges of each piece.

In same manner as the lettering add a little shine to the pineapple by applying adhesive and foil. Use water color foils to coordinate with the fabric colors.

Sew pillow back to pillow front and stuff!

Happy Craft n’ Sewing!
