If you know anything about me you know I LOVE Cori Dantini fabrics.  I made this quilt and pillow last year and with some of the leftover fabrics, I was able to make this fun advent pillow to go with it.  It turned out so cute I just had to share.

Christmas Holiday Advent Countdown Pillow with Blend Fabrics Instructions:

The small panel has these small squares under them.  I made 6 rows of 4 squares.  Add embellishments such as ricrac and ribbons.  Cut 24 fleece circles using the Gina K Nested Circles Die (smallest circle).  Using a font in word trace your numbers on the Hot Melt Adhesive and adhere the numbers to the center of the fleece squares.  Apply the Fancy foil to get beautiful shiny numbers.  Repeat until you get all of the rows and numbers completed.

Starting from the bottom sew all the rows together stitching the bottom of the pocket to the base of the fabric.  I used a scrap piece of muslin that measured 22 1/2″x 20 1/2″.  Make sure they overlap about 1/2″.  Continue until all of the rows are sewn down.  Stitch vertically down the panel at even intervals,  this will give us our pockets and hold everything in place.  Sew 3 sides of your pillow together leaving one side open to insert your pillow form.  Hand stitch the opening closed.

Cut out Santa or another image from one of the small panels and a scrap piece of fabric for the back.  Adhere HeatNBond Craft Extra Firm to the back of the scrap and Santa fabric, sandwich a piece of fleece in between the stitch around the image.  Cut close to the stitch line.

Optional:

Cut several felt flowers and randomly sew them to the corners of the pockets.  I sewed them on by hand with pearl centers.  I also sewed one on to the Santa to help keep the ribbon in place.

I used one of the larger panels for the back of my pillow.  This pillow measures 22″x 20″ you can find a tutorial on how to make your own pillow form here.
