1,2,3 AMAZING!!! New Baby Keepsake with Deco Foil

by Heather Collins

I had to go to a baby shower for a friend of mine.  I love giving books to the new parents and something that is personalized.  This is a great way of giving them something to share with the baby and having something to enjoy for years to come.

To start this project I painted my wooden board with white paint, heating the paint layers with a heat gun to dry the paint quicker.  Next, I sprayed the board with yellow, pink and red paint and let dry.

Next I took a piece of Brutus Monroe UltraBond Thick Surface board and covered it with iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive, then laid the cover off the book (“Magic Box” by Katie Cleminson) I bought on top. After it was dried I cut out the main picture, then used a black marker on and attached iCraft 3D Foam Tape Jumbo Roll.

I wanted to add some sparkle to my art piece and the adhesive transfer designs make it so easy.  First I cut the transfers I wanted to use and laid them on my piece and then removed the back and rubbed onto the piece where I wanted to use them from the Deco Foil Adhesive Transfer Designs by Unity – Just Numbers, Deco Foil Adhesive Transfer Designs by Brutus Monroe – Dazzling Doodles and Deco Foil Adhesive Transfer Designs by Unity – Simply Amazing.  Then I removed one by one and rubbed the foil that I wanted to use with the transfers.

To finish the piece I attached Tim Holtz ephemera using iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive.  Lastly, I attached my cut-out from my book cover.  I hope they enjoy my baby gift as much as I did creating it.
