Hi there!  It’s Andrea with you sharing a fun, winter-themed, masculine birthday card.  I’m also showing you three ways to add foil and flock to your projects without a laminator!

Adding Flock to a Stamped Image

That adorable penguin is from MFT Stamps’ Chill Wishes set.  I colored him with Copics and cut him out.  To add some texture to his hat, I used the paper-piecing technique, only using flock instead of patterned paper.  I stamped the penguin onto Blue Diamond and Screamin’ Green Flock Transfer Sheets and cut out the hat and brim with my scissors.  Then, it was just a matter of adhering the two pieces to the colored image with Mixed Media Adhesive.

Adding Foil to a Stamped Image

I coated a scrap piece of white cardstock with the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen and used my die-cutting machine to transfer Brutus Monroe Gold Static Foil to it.  I stamped the penguin onto the foiled cardstock and used my scissors to cut out the lenses of the goggles.  Next, I adhered each lens to the colored image with Mixed Media Adhesive.

Foiling a Card Panel

It’s so easy to add foil with Transfer Gel Duo – and there’s no need for a laminator!  I used the Stencil Pal to spread a layer of gel through a stencil.  Once the gel was dry, I placed a piece of Brutus Monroe Blue Waves Foil over the panel and ran it through my die cutting machine.  The pressure from the machine adheres the foil to the gel and voila!  a beautiful, foiled panel without heat!

Adding Glitz Glitter Gel to a Stencil Design

To create the background for my skiing penguin, I first placed MFT’s Drifts & Hills Stencil and Newton’s Nook Designs Mountain Stencil over a white panel.  I added the mountains with Weathered Wood Distress Ink, removed the Mountain Stencil, and inked the sky with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink.  To add some sparkle to the mountains, I spread White Glitz Glitter Gel through the Mountain Stencil.

Assembling the Card

I adhered the stenciled background to a white card with the Memory Tape Runner XL.  After die-cutting the foiled panel with Your Next Stamp’s Ripped Circles Dies, I attached it to the card with Gina K. Designs’ White Foam Tape.

I adhered a mini pom pom to the penguin’s hat with Ultra Bond Adhesive and added him to my card with a mini wobble.  I adhered the die-cut snowflakes with Mixed Media Adhesive and attached the sentiment with foam tape.
