Hello friends! Ellen here and today I’m sharing another love project on the ThermOWeb blog.

We’re just days away from Valentine’s Day so today I have two colorful cards for you to make for your “tweetie”! Sorry…had to try! You’ll find the Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets are the perfect product to use for your feathered friends to create added dimension and texture!

As you could see in the first picture, I created two “love bird” cards. Both are created the same way.

Valentine Card Photo Tutorial

Here is a step-by-step photo tutorial on how I made one of the cards.

First I created the background. This background was made with “Distress” ink and Deco Foil Metallix Gel. First I blend different ink on a rectangular piece. When the ink dried, I added the gel with the “Stencil Pal” and a stencil. The Stencil Pal is perfect to add even layer of gel.

The next step is creating the birds. For this, I used “Flock” and white foam. You cut out foam pieces that are bigger than the shape of your dies. Peel off the paper of one side of the foam. Place a piece of the flock on top of the sticky surface from the foam (below you can find a supplies list where you can find all flack colors I used). Next, you can push the sandwich through your die cutting machine. As the last step, you peel away the flock from the foam. When the flock piece is a little bigger than the foam, it’s more simple to peel it off. All that is left is a flocked piece of foam. That’s what you use to cut out the shapes with your dies (here the dies that form birds).

When I did cut out all the shapes I added depth by inking small parts. Then I layered all pieces until they form the shape of a bird. For the beak and legs, I used the new Rina K. Designs NEON Orange Glow Electro Pop Enamel. This is the only new product I used.

Then I used the Deco Foil Toner Sheets to create a foiled piece of paper. This foil was used to cut out some letters.

To add a border in the side of my rectangular piece I did use the Memory Tape Runner. Dimension was created by using the Gina K. Design White Foam Tape 3/8 in.

As a final step, I  glued sequins and pearls on the card with the iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive.

I loved the happy colors from the first card, but I also wanted to create a similar card that showed a night scene. The second card is the result of that idea. I encourage you to check out the supplies list to see all the supplies I used on both cards.
