Hello crafty friends! Lauren Lovato here, a.k.a. Sonoran Starfish Designs, and I’m so excited to be guest designing for ThermoWeb this month! I love anything with sparkle and shine, and boy does their products fit the bill!

Stencil Card with Neon Glitz

For my first project, I started with a slimline-sized piece of bright pink recollections cardstock, and stenciled “Orange Glow” glitz gel from the Rina K Electro Pop collection through a 12×12 stencil called “The Rug” from The Crafter’s Workshop.
While that was drying, I stuck an adhesive sheet to a piece of plain white cardstock, and applied gold DecoFoil to the adhesive. I die cut the word “Hello”, positioning half of the word on the white and half of the word on the gold to give it a dipped look. I then cut four more out of plain white cardstock to layer underneath. This gives the word lots of dimension! I have a quick video clip of the process here:

When the slimline panel was dry, I sliced a little bit off the top and bottom, and then cut it into 1-inch sections. I lined up the sections and popped them up with foam tape onto a white slimline card panel. I glued the sentiment in the middle to finish it off. The simple stenciled design and word die stand out with the addition of the sparkle and the shine!
For my second card, I used images from the “Joni” printable by Ann Corbiere-Scott Designs.

Printable Card with Deco Foil

I have a video of the process to make this card here:

First, I printed the images in my laser printer, so that the foil would react with toner ink and stick to the designs. I ran it through the laminator with Gold Shattered Glass Deco Foil, and peeled the foil off.
Using blending brushes, I blended some of the Gina K Electro-Pop “Poppin Pink” ink onto the flowers, concentrating the color in the center and letting it blend out towards the edges. I did the same with the leaves, using “Screamin Green” ink, and used a paper towel to gently buff any excess ink off the foiled lines. I also blended some “Screamin Green” over the foiled sentiment, so it would stand out against the flowers and the background, then fussy cut the floral images and the leaves.
Using a small paintbrush, I dabbed glitz gels in the colors “Orange Glow” and “Screamin Green” onto the flower centers and the details in the leaves and left them to dry.
When dry, I arranged them onto a white slimline card base, some with glue and some with foam tape to give it some varying dimension.
I hope you enjoy these cards! Be sure to check out ThermoWeb’s social media pages for more super fun ways to get sparkle and shine on your projects. Have a great day!
