Hello! It’s been a fabulous week of slimline, holiday inspiration as we introduced the new Brutus Monroe Deco Foil Transfer Sheets and collaborated with our friends at Brutus Monroe! It’s Andrea with you today to share a sparkly, rainbow, holiday, slimline, shaker card (Say that three times fast! LOL).
The new Brutus Monroe Deco Foil Transfer Sheets are absolutely gorgeous! I love the subtle patterns in the designs, and you just can’t beat that beautiful sparkle and sheen!
Foiling a Die-cut Shape
I started by die-cutting Deco Foil Toner Sheets with the Brutus Monroe Ornaments Die and then trimmed around each ornament with my scissors. I cut a small square from a toner sheet and die-cut one ornament at a time rather than die-cutting the entire panel three times, which helped me avoid too much waste.
Once all of the ornaments were trimmed out, I added foil to them with my laminator. The colors of Deco Foil I used are Brutus Monroe Blue Waves, Gina K Designs Glittering Green, Gina K Designs Twinkling Pink.
To tie all of the ornament colors together, I created a rainbow bow with the new Brutus Monroe Rainglow Deco Foil. After die-cutting a toner sheet with Pinkfresh Studio’s Artistic Bow Dies, I added the Rainglow Deco Foil to it with my laminator. I assembled the bow with Ultra Bond Adhesive.
Creating a Sparkly Background
I decided to continue the rainbow theme on my background. I blended a Brutus Monroe Precut Card Panel with Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides. After adding Pixie Spray to Brutus Monroe’s Background Baubles Stencil, I used my Stencil Pal to spread Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel over the panel. I love how the gel takes on the hue of the ink, and that sparkle is total glam!
Putting it Together
I die-cut another of the Precut Card Panels with Whimsy Stamps’ Slimline Birthday Scallops Dies and trimmed my stenciled background to size. I also trimmed down a Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheet and adhered to the white frame on top with Ultra Bond Adhesive.
I gold heat-embossed a sentiment from the retired Gina K Designs Wishing You Joy StampNStencil stamp set (In hindsight I wish I had used white embossing powder as the gold doesn’t really show up well). I trimmed down strips of Gina K Designs White Foam Tape and placed them on the back of my acetate. After placing a bunch of sequins onto the acetate, I covered the frame with my background panel. I adhered the shaker to a Precut Card Base with Terrific Tape.
I tied a bit of gold string around the ornaments and adhered them to my card with Ultra Bond Adhesive. I used a medium Zots Single to hold the strings in place and topped it with the bow.
Foiling an Envelope
I decided to decorate my envelope to coordinate with my shaker card. To do that I applied Deco Foil Transfer Gel Blanco through the Background Baubles Stencil. Before applying the gel, I masked around the ornament with Purple Tape. Once the gel was dry, I used my laminator to add some Rainglow Deco Foil. When laminating, I placed a bit of parchment paper between the envelope and flap just in case the heat reactivated the glue and sealed the envelope shut.
Thanks for stopping by!
