Lucy and Millie Mermaid pattern by Jennifer Jangles

Hi, it’s Amy here today from During Quiet Time. I followed Jennifer Jangles Sewing Pattern to create this set of Lucy and Millie Mermaid dolls for my daughters. They love them!Jangles-Logo

You can purchase the pattern in Jennifer’s shop. The pattern is made up of 20 steps, is printed in full color with diagrams and illustrations. It’s very straightforward and easy to follow. For my dolls, I used Jennifer’s fabric line called Extraordinary World. My girls particularly like the mermaid print used for the tails of the dolls.

Lucy and Millie the Mermaid tip

One tip I’d like to share is on Step 6 and 7 baste with SpraynBond™ Basting along the edges of the doll heads once you have the hair in place as I did here rather than just pinning. It makes it so much easier when assembling the doll to do away with some of the pins.

Lucy and Millie Mermaid HeatNBond

When you applique the star to the tail, you can use HeatnBond® Lite and it works like a charm.

If you have a mermaid loving little girl to sew for, this is the pattern for you!
