This week, I got to play with the fun Walk in the Woods fabrics from Jennifer Jangles. I used them to make two super-cute pincushions from the Jennifer Jangles pattern line!

Jennifer Jangles Patterns and fabric

First – the fabrics! These fabrics are super cute, together or as blenders. I will be tucking the extras into a special corner of my stash… they have great patterns for modern or more contemporary projects.

The patterns are equally cute. If you’re looking for a simple pin cushion, the birthday cake pin cushion pattern is a winner. Not a lot of pieces, and lots of ways that you can embellish it to customize it for yourself, or to give as a gift.

I did make one simple change to the pattern when making the birthday cake pin cushion. I glued the icing yo-yos and candles on with Thermoweb Liquid Fabric Fuse glue. It worked great! And took almost no time at all! The next time I make this pattern, I might forgo sewing the embellishments on, and glue them on with Thermoweb Fabric Fuse instead! So simple!

I also made the Pretty Bird Pin Cushion. This has a few more pieces, but isn’t that much work than the birthday cake. I had fun making the wings, tail, and breast a different color than the body. This pin cushion is great for a scrappy look!

I used Heatnbond® Interfacing on one side of each wing and the tail, and on both sides of the feet, to give it extra support.

These pincushions were both super cute and simple to make – you could make both in a day, or one in an afternoon if you like!

Love these little pincushions – I think I might just be getting a bit of an addiction to pincushions!

What I like mostly about fall is the smell of falling crisp leaves, comfort foods, getting ready for Halloween and then Thanksgiving and deciding what to make for Xmas gifts.and using the flannel rag quilts made for using on a rainy day to watch a good love story

I like Fall for the colors of the trees, the crispness in the air, fresh apples and cider from the orchard.
