Hexiecase 1

It’s Amy here today from During Quiet Time! I was asked to share a Back to School project with you today and thought it was the perfect opportunity to revisit my Hexiecase pattern that I designed two years ago. I have been wanting to remake this bag to find just the right HeatnBond products to recommend. This project relies heavily on the proper interfacing to hold the hexagonal shape of the bag.

I found that the best products for adding stability without making the project too difficult to sew, were HeatnBond® NonWoven Craft Fusible Firm for the exterior pieces and HeatnBond® NonWoven Fusible Medium Weight for the lining.

Both of the products add a lot of stability without a lot of bulk.

This pattern is a fun way to use school related novelty prints and text fabrics.  I think that these bags would make great teachers gifts too if you want to plan ahead to the holidays!  To purchase the Hexiecase Pattern, you can visit my Etsy shop.

This is such a fun pouch and I’ll have to give it another try with these products. I can’t remember what I used before.
Love this new one you made!
