Happy Birthday Cards with Glitz

I started off this project with some of the Glitter Glitz colors and a stencil…

but then I changed my mind and decided I wanted to start with the Electro-Pop neon inks. I used these great blenders I found on Amazon. I started with the Poppin Pink and moved across the stencil with the other colors.

Once I’ve finished, the design is a beautiful variety of color.

I picked a different Stencil and repeated the same process with the inks.

Once I was finished with the inks, I spread a little of the same color glitter glitz over the same color ink on the stencil. I repeated this process with the other colors but not completely covering all the inked areas. The results were really pretty.

Now that I had prepared my inked and Glitz’d cardstock, I was ready to create my cards.

For the first card, I decided to cut the stencil in 1/2. I did this because I could make 2 cards with the design. I adhered a 1/2 inch by 5 1/2 inch piece of black cardstock and adhered it to the left side of the card base. Then I adhered the stenciled and inked strip next to it and finished the card with the Happy Birthday die cut. I used a few random die cut stars to finish my design.

For the second card, I die cut a heart shape out of the center of the card with the scalloped heart die from Pretty Pink Posh.

Next, I layered a black piece of cardstock cut at 5×4 behind the glitzed and stenciled cardstock.

For the sentiment, I used Rina K’s Electro-Pop Neon flock in Orange Glow and added a sheet of Easy Cut Adhesive (my go-to for any intricate die-cut) and ran it thru my die cutting machine.

It’s a bit tricky getting out the bits but these fine tweezers help. I also cut out the sentiment with a white piece of cardstock to mount the flocked piece on for more stability.

I put some of Therm-O-Web’s Ultra Bond liquid adhesive in this bottle with a fine tip. I find that it helps me get under the die to adhere it to the heart-shaped die-cut on the front of the card.

Here’s a look at both my finished cards.

I hope you’ll try this technique and share what you created with us! Make sure to tag your posts with the appropriate tags #thermoweb #rinakdesigns #glitzglittergel #electropop

Have a creative day!
