Gone Fishin’ Frame Instructions

Paint the backboard piece of the mini Framed Panel with blue acrylic paint.  Add some dry brushed marks along the bottom with grey and white paint to simulate water and pounce diluted white paint onto the top for clouds.

Die cut trees with the Tree Line die from Green Envy, Emerald Green and Teal Waters Deco Foil Flock transfer sheets.  I used one each of the Green Envy and Emerald Green trees and two from the Teal Waters Flock.

Starting on the left side of the painted panel, adhere the Emerald Green die cut trees to the painted panel with iCraft Ultra Bond adhesive and then layer the Green Envy trees to the right and slightly below, adhering them in place with Ultra Bond adhesive.

Adhere the first of the Teal Waters tree die cuts to the left side of the panel below the Green Envy trees and then add a few more Teal Water trees to the right side of the panel as shown, adhering them all in place with iCraft Ultra Bond adhesive.

Paint the chipboard fish with green acrylic paint and paint his (or her!) belly with white acrylic paint as shown.  Mask off the white painted area and spatter the rest of the fish with some diluted white and brown acrylic paints.

Add Deco Foil adhesive over the white painted belly with your Deco Foil Adhesive pen and left dry till tacky (just takes a couple of minutes).  Lay a piece of Deco Foil Rainbow Transfer Sheet overtop of the tacky adhesive and burnish well with a soft cloth to transfer the foil.  Remove the foil backing to reveal your rainbow trout!  Add a few gill lines to the fishes head with a fine line black Micron pen.

Add your rainbow trout to the backing panel with Gina K. Designs Black Foam Squares so he looks like he is leaping out of the water.

Paint the frame of the mini Framed Panel with brown acrylic paint and then white wash it with diluted white acrylic paint, wiping it back here and there for a worn peeled paint look. If desired add some brown antiquing medium to add a bit more age to the frame.

Cut a couple of pieces of ribbon or jute twine and sandwich them between the backing panel and the frame on each top corner.  Adhere the frame to the backing panel with iCraft Ultra Bond adhesive and let dry thoroughly.

Colour a round tag with Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky (or die cut a round tag shape from some cardstock if you don’t have a round tag).  Stamp the ‘gone fishin’ sentiment onto the inked tag with black permanent ink.

Tie the two pieces of ribbon together so you can hang your frame.  Attach the ‘gone fishin’ tag to the hanger with a piece of button thread and your Gone Fishin’ frame is complete!

Here are a few closeups of the finished frame.

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing how my Gone Fishin’ frame came together and that you’ve been inspired to make one of your own for the fisherperson in your life with Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets.  Have a wonderful week everyone and happy creating,

Deb xo
