I have so much fun when I join other Therm O Web designers to create projects using blocks we each created. We did this before using Christmas ornaments, but this time its fruits.

Feeling a Bit Fruity Quilt with HeatnBond Fusible Fleece

Amy Warner made the cutest cherries, Carla Henton made a yummy slice of watermelon, and Amy Chappell made a sweet lemon with a heart…I love them all! My block of fruit was a bunch of apples in yellows, reds, and greens using Northcott Canvas fabrics. All of us used the amazing Heat n Bond Lite to iron them to our blocks. You’ll love how the protective paper easily peels off the back without having to score the paper! I put all the cute blocks together to create a small quilt with Heat n Bond Fleece Fusible High Loft for batting that measures 45″ x 45″ and has an easy-to-make scalloped border.

Feeling A Bit Fruity Pattern

Getting your applique pieces ready is an easy process with Heat n Bond EZ Print Lite sheets. They can be printed on your inkjet printer, ironed to the wrong side of your fabric, and they are ready to be cut out for placement.

*Tip: Use a heat resistant applique sheet to arrange your applique before applying it to your fabric. This helps avoid mistakes in placement. Just lightly press the pieces in place on the applique sheet and let cool before removing. Iron on the right side of fabric following manufacturer’s directions.TooltipText

Once the quilt is sewn together, using ThermOWeb products makes it easy to assemble. To finish the quilt, iron Heat n Bond Fleece Fusible High Loft to the wrong side of backing fabric following package directions. It’s important to use a protective covering between the fleece and iron.

Protect the area where you will be working by placing an old sheet or paper under and around the area you’ll be spraying. Lay quilt front, wrong side down, over fleece. Fold back a 6” to 7” section of quilt front. Spray Therm O Web Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive on the fleece side from one edge to the other. Carefully lay quilt top over the sprayed area and smooth using your hands; check for creases or folds…the fabric can easily be lifted and replaced if needed. Continue this method of spraying and smoothing just 6-8 inches at a time until you reach the bottom of the quilt. Let dry.

Trim the edges and quilt as desired. Add binding using your favorite method.
