Hey, it’s Katrina from Paper, Scissors, Glue and Hybrid Too on the blog today!  Fall is here, although it seems like we almost went straight to winter with the rain we have had here!  I have a layout share today to show you how easy it is to create a custom flocked border using only one punch, one color of flock, and ink!

Fall Scrapbook Layout Details

Since fall makes me think of all things warm, fuzzy, and cozy I wanted some flocked areas on my layout.  What I am going to show you in this blog post is how to create an easy flocked punched border with one circle punch, ink, and one color of flock White Latte.   Let’s get started!

I had already printed my picture and then found that I had bought the chipboard frames that went with the collection.  Luckily my picture was almost big enough to fit, so I made it work.  I used the iCraft Easy Tear Tape to attach the frame to my photo.

We will cover up that spot later!!!

Next, I started putting together my layout.  I LOVED the design of a layout that Wendy Tipton did for Paper Issues, so I scrap lifted her layout.  Giving her full credit on the design here, because there is so much you can do with this!  The diagonal piece I wanted to stand up, so I used some Gina K Foam Tape, since it’s a little thinner than the 3D Foam Squares.

When you place the piece diagonally, you will need to trim off that little area on the right side (or left, depending on which way you go!)

This is where I knew I wanted to create a flocked border.  To make sure I didn’t waste any foam adhesive, I punch circles out and lined them up along the side and bottom of my plaid paper, so I would know how many to punch out.  Once I had my number, which was eight, I used my circle punch with the Deco Foil Foam Adhesive and punched out eight circles.

Next, I inked up my White Latte flock sheet with some grey ink that matched the collection.

NOTE:  I switched inks and didn’t take a different picture!  The Catherine Pooler ink was a better match once I started blending.

After inking, I punched eight circles out of my flock.  It was easier to leave the flock sheet intact while blending than to try to color 8 punched circles!

Moving on to the next step, just take the flocked circles and attach them to one side of the Deco Foil Foam Adhesive circles that you punched out.  This is a way to use flock without running it thru a manual die cutting machine or laminator.  Once you have your circles put together, then you are going to cut them in half.  This will create the scalloped border for your plaid paper!

I left the paper circles I punched to use as a guide for the placement of the adhesive flocked ones.

I just love the fuzzy and soft feeling this gives the entire layout!  And by using the White Latte  Flock and ink, you can customize this to any color you want.  This would also be cute using a scalloped punch also!

In addition to the border, I trimmed a couple of pieces of scrap Deco Foil Foam Adhesive into thin strips and flocked and inked those also.

Now, for this, I didn’t have a piece of foam adhesive long enough, so I “hid” the part that didn’t have the strip with my picture!  Great way to use up scraps. Also, I did run these strips with the flock thru my manual die cutting machine to transfer the flock onto the foam adhesive.  This was easier than trying to line up two long strips on top of each other!

To finish up my layout, I added foam adhesive on the back of my picture.  I ended up using 3D Foam Squares and then a few Gina K Foam Squares, to match heights of how I had applied things!

I create some fun clusters with tags and embellishments to round out my layout.  This is a great way to use tags you aren’t really fond of or have sayings on them that you know you probably won’t use!

Use foam adhesive to create some dimension to your clusters.

And last, but not least, I covered up that tiny spot with a pumpkin sticker from the collection!  No one is wiser, well they wouldn’t be if I had not done this blog post!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope my layout got you in the mood for some fall-themed scrapping!
