It’s Katrina here today on the ThermOWeb blog. I worked with Case File 258, the second case file that was released in July.  This one was really different than the first one, at least I thought so when I was “solving” it!

CSI Layout Challenge – Visit To The Aquarium

Here is my take on solving the case!  I used a few colors as inspiration, stripes, watercolored the jellyfish and did a sea inspired layout!

Therm O Web Supplies Used:
Therm O Web 3D Foam Squares– 1/2 inch
Therm O Web Sticky Tape Mini Runner
Deco Foil Transfer Sheets – Rose Gold Value Pack
Deco Foil Transfer Gel
Therm O Web Deco Foil Foam Adhesive
Laminator
ThermOWeb iCraft Purple Tape

Other Supplies Used: Carta Bella Summer Splash Collection and Stencil, Uniball Pen, Cut File and Silhouette Cameo, Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers,

Visit to The Aquarium Layout Instructions:

Turn laminator on and let warm for at least 20 minutes on the 5ml setting.

Trim inner background paper to 11×11 inches.  Hold stencil in place using Purple Tape. Use the DecoFoil Transfer Gel and a palette knife to spread the gel over the stencil. Move stencil and repeat at needed until out edges are stenciled.  Let dry.  Tip-I blew a fan in the room and the gel dried in about 30 minutes and I was able to start working again

Transfer Gel will be white when applied and when completely dry will turn clear.  You can see in the picture below the top left-hand corner is starting to change to a clear color.  That is where I started with the gel and moved to the right, down the side, bottom and then up the rest of the left side.

Apply Rose Gold Foil Transfer sheets with color side up to over the dried transfer gel.  Sandwich a piece of cardstock (use as a shim), the stenciled background and then the foil transfer sheets in a parchment paper carrier sleeve and run thru the laminator.  You will end up with this!!!  Once your inner background piece is foiled, adhere to the bigger background with the Sticky Tape Mini Runner.  Also adhere pictures down.

Use a jellyfish cut file and die cut some jellyfish on paper that can be watercolored.  Watercolor jellyfish with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and water.  Decorate with a Uniball White Gel Pen.  Place foam adhesive on the backs of the jellyfish to give them some dimension.

Write strips of journaling to add to layout using a black pen.  Trace detail lines around journaling strips and adhere to layout with DecoFoil Foam Adhesive.

And the case is solved!!  Be sure to check out the CSI Challenges!  Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
