Well, It’s that time of the year.  In the states, it means brisk temperatures, sweaters, and for every fabric lovers dream – Quilt Market.   Amy Warner here from Sew Incredibly Crazy bringing to you my very first Quilt Market projects.   I am very excited to say the least.  First, I created a sweet computer satchel using Dear Stella Asuka fabrics.   computer bag Thermoweb 1

The fabrics are a fun blend of floral patterns.

I used a mix of most of the fabrics that are in this line.  To give the computer bag the necessary padding and shape, I used  High Loft Fusible Fleece .  It was a dream to work with. It made the quilting on the satchel have just the right amount of volume, plus it give the computer that will later travel in it a little extra padding for protection.

I added the stem and leaves around the pink flower using iCraft® DECO FOIL™ in Gold prior to quilting.  After completing the flowers and the bag, I decided that the bag needed some more leaves.

I had no problems adding more leaves over the top of the quilted bag flap.  The pink flower was created by brushing iCraft® DECO FOIL™ Liquid Adhesive  over the edges of a frayed piece of fabric.  After it dried, I then added iCraft® DECO FOIL™ in Pink Melon to the edges of the frayed fabric.  I used an old credit card to really apply pressure across the foil.  It creates the right amount of pressure across the face of the fabric edges.

For my second project, I have had a vision for a America quilt for the last couple of years.  My family is definitely lovers of the Red, White, and Blue.  So, this is what I dreamed up.

America quilt

I used HeatnBond® Lite  to add the America applique to the quilt.

For the stars tied along the edge, I used iCraft® DECO FOIL™ in gold, ocean, and red.  For stability of all of the stars, I created a fabric sandwich with  HeatnBond Craft Extra Firm Non-Woven Interfacing.  Using the interfacing allowed me to add grommets to the tops of all the stars without the worry of the fabric giving way.

I love the added bling that the  iCraft® DECO FOIL™ brought to my the stars.

I hoped that you enjoyed my preview of the project that you will be able to see at Quilt Market.

I know that it was a honor and pleasure to create them.

Love both of these designs, Amy! The bag is s o feminine and funky; that little bit of sparkle from the Deco Foil is a great accent. Can’t wait to see these projects live at Quilt Market.
