Good Morning Therm O Web fans, this is Jenifer here with you today to share my Jennifer Jangles project with you.

Jennifer has a new book and fabric line that are just fantastic.  If you are looking for fall fabrics look no further.  I fell in love with this cute little hedgehog and just new that he needed to be the highlight of a little book bag.

Hedgehog book bag: Designer Jenifer Cowles
Therm O Web supplies:
Jennifer Jangles Supplies Used:
A Walk in the Woods book
Other Supplies Used:
May Arts Ribbons
Embroidery floss
Directions:
Cut
2-15″x 42″ 1 for the outside fabric and 1 for the lining
1-9″x18″ for pocket (optional)
2-3″x42″ for straps
copy Mushrooms and Hedgehog at 75% and cut out as the book instructs
On one end of the outside fabric adhere the hedgehog, grass and mushrooms using HeatNBond® feather lite.  Liquid Fabric Fuse™ helps keep the really small pieces such as the eye and nose in place.  Sew all the pieces down using your favorite stitch.  Go around all the pieces with embroidery floss to give it some fun and special touches (optional).
Adhere the HeatnBond® Fusible Fleece to the wrong side of the outer fabric, using fusible fleece makes it so that you will not have to use any pins when you quilt this top layer.  Quilt as desired.
Round the corners on the end with the hedgehog and one of the lining pieces.
Fold pocket in half and sew pocket wrong sides together leaving an opening for turning. Turn and press.
Sew the pocket on the lining piece about 16″ down from the rounded end.
Sew the lining and the outer pieces wrong sides together leaving the straight end open for turning.
Turn. Press. Fold the straight end over on itself 2 times and sew down creating a little hem.
Fold the straight edge up on itself about 16″ leaving the rounded edge free,   This will be the flap.  Sew. Turn. Notice how you have a nice finished seam on the inside 🙂  Good times:)
Adhere the HeatNBond® Craft to one of the straps and sew with wrong sides together, leaving the ends open for turning.  Turn.  (Optional) Add ribbons to your straps for extra cuteness.
Sew the straps on to the inside of the bag with the seam centered. Do this for both sides.

Here is a close up of the super cute hedgehog.

Here is the inside of the bag.  I love the nice large pocket.  It is large enough to hold my kindle.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today and I see more hedgehog pieces in my future.

No hedge hogs in Montana, but my younger son has always had a passion for them. And, of course, I am a fox.

We have no hedge hogs in Montana, but my son has always had a passion for them. Personally, I am a fox and one way or the other I am going to love this fabric line!
