Hi everyone!  Are you gearing up for back to school?  This is Kim Lapacek from Persimon Dreams and I definitely am! I have three little girls (8,  7, and 4) that are all going back (one is going for the first time – egads!) school this year.

It’s tough on a budget to get them all fitted with a new wardrobe for back to school so today I’m going to show you a way you can jazz up there current wardrobe to make it feel new again with the new iCraft® Deco Foils™!

stretchy pants
First – grap a pair of pants that still fit your kiddo but need a little something extra.  I’m starting with a pair of stretchy pink pants.  My girls LIVE in these things!

star punch

Next…I looked through my paper punches and I found this cute little star punch.  You’ll also need a scrap of the iCraft® Deco Foil™ Hot Melt Adhesive.
fusing starsI punched outa  bunch of stars and then laid them onto the pants to determine how I wanted them look.  On the bottom of one leg I put three stars grouped together.

fused starsOnce I had the stars where I wanted them I placed the Pressing Sheet over them and pressed them for a good 30 seconds with my hot iron.

***Note*** be sure to know what the clothing you are pressing onto is made of so you don’t melt the clothes.  These pants are cotton so a hot iron is just fine.  If you need to use a lower setting, just press for longer.

Now – let the Deco Foil™ Hot Melt Adhesive cool down before you peel the paper off.

While you’re waiting for the Deco Foil™ Hot Melt Adhesive to cool down … take a ruler and get the approximate area you’ll need your sheet of DecoFoils to cover.  In this case … I would cut a sheet of DecoFoils to 2″ x 3.5″.  This will give me proper coverage and little waste.  Just before you’re about to peel of the paper of the adhesive … wait a few more minutes to make sure it’s cooled down enough.

Once the Deco Foil™ Hot Melt Adhesive is properly cool, peel of the paper and your pattern should be visible on the piece of clothes.

Place your piece of DecoFoil over the area of the adhesive.  Put down your pressing sheeet and press down with the hot iron for 30 seconds.  Once everything is nice and cool you can peel your DecoFoil off.

and voila!  Some fabulous, fun shiny stars have been added to the pants!

Three stars wasn’t enough so I added a few more!  Here you can see that I didn’t wait quite long enough to take the adhesive off.  It may look a little splotchy which I personally don’t mind … but if you want it to be solid – be patient!

I think this star grouping is my personal favorite.

DecoFoils can be added to pants, skirts, shirts and more for back to school fun on a budget!
